For Kevin. The first iteration of Electric Ladyland was a single album that was just Side 3 & Side 4 with the psychedelic cover art. As an 11 year old I couldn’t afford the double or gather the courage to bring a double spread of nudes into my home. So perhaps you would’ve preferred that version?

I do need to say, also, that where you’re literal about separating tracks is super annoying. Sorry but to talk about Moon Turn….. separately from 1983 is just nuts, it’s as if you never listened to this continuously. It’s the end of the journey guys. And while on 1983 I like that you find it positive but it’s also massively apocalyptic and underlines Jimi’s enormous concern as to the state of the world and our treatment of the environment.

Oops I didn’t finish. Without going on (a bit like you guys) I’m disappointed. I never expected full support for the album and criticism‘s important but I do feel you’ve missed the historical significance of Jimi’s work and that’s sad. I could go on but I just really found what seemed promising to be massively disappointing.

Hi guys. I’ve just been listening to your Electric Ladyland “critique”. This is first of your podcasts I’ve listened to so I’m aware that I don’t have proper sense of context or style to how you guys riff. I’m figuring there’s an element of provocation to your dialogue and here’s where you’ve definitely succeeded.
